Ellen Dubin lands a supporting lead role in a 3D adventure comedy movie
DEAD BEFORE DAWN. She plays Beverly Galloway a sweet overprotective
mother who turns into a evil vindictive zemon.
The film will be shot entirely in Stereoscopic 3D, making it the first full-length,
live action Canadian feature. Dead Before Dawn portrays college kids accidentally
unleashing an evil curse that turns zombies into demons. Wango Films has
assembled a young all-star cast lead by Devon Bostick (Diary of a Wimpy Kid,
Adoration) as Casper Galloway, including Martha MacIsaac (Superbad), Brandon
Jay McLaren (The Killing), Brittany Allen (The Rocker), Kevin McDonald (Kids in
the Hall), Ellen Dubin (Napoleon Dynamite), Kyle Schmid (A History of Violence),
Rossif Sutherland (High Life), and Wango Films' April Mullen and Tim Doiron.

Ellen Dubin’s Biography
Ellen has enjoyed a unique and extremely diverse career as an actor. The striking leggy 5’10-1/2” native of Toronto began performing as a ballet dancer. When a temporary knee injury sidelined her, Ellen segued into acting with a wide variety of critically acclaimed stage roles. She recently starred opposite TV star Peter Scolari in the hit stage comedy BOEING BOEING.
A Gemini Award nominated actress for her series regular role Jeri Slate in the Leo Award winning supernatural drama THE COLLECTOR (airing in 65 countries and continuing in repeats), Ellen is also a cult figure in the sci-fi world for playing the alien cannibal Giggerota the Wicked in the international cult hit LEXX. She has the distinction of doing all four seasons and playing four different characters in this very popular show. Ellen played the first Pope in scifi history in LEXX.
Her affinity for the unusual has also lead her to starring roles in THE DEAD ZONE, BLOOD TIES, MUTANT X, A WRINKLE IN TIME and HIGHLANDER: THE RAVEN where she is the only female to have a broad to broad to broadsword fight in that show’s history.
In NAPOLEON DYNAMITE, the multi award winning Sundance Film Festival favorite and one of the most popular film comedies of all time, Ellen plays the Tupperware-loving mom of Napoleon’s potential prom date. Her comedy thriller BULL has played the film festival circuit as well as her romantic drama LOST AND FOUND, a Bravo-sponsored film she starred in and produced.
She is also the go-to-girl for a host of movies on the Lifetime Network, and the Sci-fi Channel. You never know where she will turn up next! SECOND CHANCES opposite In Treatment’s Melissa George is airing right now on LIFETIME and TMN as well as her TV movie opposite teen icon Molly Ringwald THE WIVES HE FORGOT. Her Hallmark Hall Of Fame Presents/CBS Emmy nominated movie of the week THE LOIS WILSON story opposite Winona Ryder is among her favorites.
She has just finished shooting a 3D comedy adventure zombie film DEAD BEFORE DAWN opposite Diary of a Wimpy Kids’ Devon Bostick and an edgy new web series THE RESOLVE in Los Angeles. She is also the voice for the new highly acclaimed attraction at Disneyland called THE WORLD OF COLOR as well as voicing many characters in a sequel to a major high profile video game GUILD WARS 2 and a new 3D animation film.
Ellen is honored to be the spokesperson for the Make A Wish Foundation in Toronto and Central Ontario, volunteers at the Los Angeles Mission and sits on the board of Kids With A Cause in Los Angeles.

The phenonimally funny Boeing Boeing, a play about a man juggling the love interests of three stewardesses gets rave reviews. There is commentary from "Ontario Art," "Stage & Page," "The Spec," and "Toronoto Sun."
